Reasons and troubleshooting of weaving machine flying shuttle:

A shuttle thrown out or obstructed in the shuttle path and flying away from the weaving hole is called a flying shuttle. Sometimes, the force of the shuttle flying outward is not significant, and its head rushes out of the upper warp yarn, while the tail of the shuttle rolls into the closed shuttle hole, still considered a flying shuttle. This type of malfunction poses a significant threat, ranging from minor damage to mechanical components to serious injuries to individuals. Unstable or obstructed flight of shuttles is the main cause of shuttle flying.

(一)Reed Seat Part

1.The position of the shuttle box backboard and the steel reed is not correct

(1)The shuttle box backboard is not properly installed, and there are debris embedded between the shuttle box backboard and the shuttle box bottom plate (3307C), causing the shuttle box backboard to retreat behind the steel reed, which can easily cause the shuttle to fly when thrown out.

(2)The spring function of the shuttle box back panel joint is poor, and the shuttle rod (K68) is not tightly attached to the movable back panel (3304). When throwing the shuttle, the movable back panel retreats backwards, causing the shuttle to fly off the shuttle box and collide with the edge of the reed.

(3)The protruding edge of the reed and the uneven rack of the reed hinder the normal flight of the shuttle.

2.The shuttle box or reed angle is not correct

(1) The back panel component of the shuttle box is worn out or the angle does not meet the requirements when installed flat.

(2) The reed clamp (3220B) is damaged, and the steel reed is loose, causing a change in angle with the shuttle board and affecting the shuttle's flight.

(3)The spring (M18) of the curved skateboard has weak elasticity, the position of the curved skateboard (M16) is not correct, and the interaction time between the curved skateboard and the curved skateboard rotor (K84W) is too late. When the shuttle is thrown out, the reed will retreat, causing the shuttle to lose the correct flight guide surface and resulting in flying.

3.Shuttle box 

The outer side of the shuttle box cover plate (3305) is too low, and the inner side height exceeds 3.2mm, causing the shuttle to fly in the wrong direction when exiting the shuttle box; The distance between the outer side of the protective plate (3306A) in front of the shuttle box and the back plate of the shuttle box is too small, and the distance between the inner side is greater than 3.2mm, which causes the shuttle to deflect towards the front of the machine when leaving the shuttle box, which can easily cause the shuttle to fly.

4.The reed frame wood component is not aligned

(1) The shuttle board (3310B) is loose or higher than the shuttle box bottom plate (3307C, 3308C) by more than 0.8mm, and the bottom of the shuttle is blocked and flies out of the shuttle box. The shuttle board arc is incorrect, affecting the shuttle's flight and causing it to fly.

(2)Loose suspension feet (F19) and seat feet (3244, 3245) can cause the box seat to tilt left and right, or the reed frame wood (3222C) to loosen, resulting in unstable shuttle flight and easy shuttle flying.

(3)The Longmen gear (J00-2) protrudes from the reed surface, causing the shuttle to be obstructed when exiting the shuttle box, resulting in flying shuttle.

(二)Poor Shuttle Feeding And Opening

1.Late opening time and early shuttle feeding time can easily cause shuttle flying, unclear shuttle opening, high bottom warp yarn, and shuttle floating, which can lead to shuttle flying.

2.The edge support is too high, and the bottom warp yarn at the edge causes the shuttle to lift up and fly off the shuttle track. Check the tension on the warp yarn and whether there is any looseness in the local warp yarn.

3.The shuttle's flying direction may be changed due to wear or misalignment of the shuttle rod, worn skin knots, skin holes below the shuttle tip, and reversed use of both hands.

4.The erosion of the shuttle, changes in the angle of the side wall, and misalignment of the center of gravity of the shuttle cause unstable flight,

5.Late opening time and excessive throwing force can easily cause shuttle flying.

6.The warp yarn or flying flowers wrap around the shuttle mouth, causing the shuttle to fly due to obstruction.

(三)Poor Adjustment Of Multiple Shuttle Boxes

1.The four shuttle positions of the changing side shuttle box were not adjusted properly, resulting in a height error of over 0.8mm with the shuttle board. The shuttle was obstructed from exiting the shuttle box and flew away from the weaving port.

2.The shuttle box seat (1515-8140) is not adjusted properly, causing the entire shuttle box to tilt and the shuttle to be thrown out along the shuttle box bottom plate (1515-8124), resulting in flying shuttle (or rolling shuttle).

3.The shuttle lifting time and shuttle throwing time are not coordinated properly.
